General Resources - HISTORY
Alan Turing, one of the greatest minds of the Twentieth Century, earned his blades in the Cambridge Bumps in 1935. You'll notice that his name is alongside another rower in seat 5: Turing was the 'reserve' - his team mate broke a bone and so the eminent mathematician was able to take his place! NOTE that the Bumps are major inter-college events at Cambridge each year (and also at Oxford, where they are called Torpids)!
